Bre’Anna is currently a sophomore at St. John’s University. She is studying Journalism with an Italian minor with the intentions of becoming a reporter for ABC, CBS or Good Morning America.
Her passion for journalism began her freshman year of high school. She wrote for her high school’s newspaper and literary magazine. During her senior year, she completed a four-week program at KYW News Radio, learned interviewing skills, news writing and editing from professionals and wrote a story which aired on the radio in January 2016. After completing this program, she knew she wanted a career in broadcast journalism.
This is also when she decided to take Italian and during her junior year, she decided she wanted to become bilingual.
As a college freshman, she stood out amongst her peers from the very beginning. She completed an internship in the fall semester, held 5 leadership positions in campus organizations and traveled to Los Angeles to help over 5,000 homeless people. In addition, she researched the homeless epidemic in Downtown Los Angeles and spoke with local journalists to shine a light on this problem.
In her free time, she loves to volunteer, read, write poetry and drink lemonade.
